What a wonderfully entrancing book! Originally published in German, this is a delightfully powerful tale of how a love of reading and books can transcend generations and bring people together.
I loved the narrative style; simple yet packed full of humour and wonderful observations on human nature.
The most endearing aspect for me was the relationship between Carl and Schascha and how they allowed each other to develop and grow.
A feel good read for any lover of books and reading!
