** Blog Tour ** Identical- Saskia Sarginson

I’m thrilled to be one of today’s stops on the blog tour for ‘Identical.’

‘Please, I need your help. You’re the only person I can turn to. The only person who can pretend to be me…’

When Alice gets a desperate message from her estranged identical twin sister Cecily, she can’t help herself. She has to say yes. Pushing down the memories of the terrible childhood that ultimately tore them apart, she arrives at her sister’s house.

Cecily has left instructions: how to work the oven, what to cook for supper, what to say to her husband.

She says she’ll only be gone a week. She just needs to contact a lawyer, sort her head out, and work out how to get away from her marriage safely.

Alice barely knows why she’s agreed. But as she puts the key in the door, she wonders if – in coming to help her sister – she might be putting herself in the most terrible danger.

Because when Cecily stops replying to messages, and the words ‘die, die, die’ appear scrawled in lipstick on the bathroom mirror, Alice realizes – someone is out to get Cecily. And now they think Alice is her…

An absolutely pulse-pounding psychological thriller – with a twist that literally nobody will see coming – from bestselling author Saskia Sarginson. Perfect for fans of Lisa Jewell, Shari Lapena and Gone Girl.

Review-

I confess to finding it difficult to know where to start with this review. I initially found the plot difficult to get into and struggled with the chapters flitting not just between Cecily and Alice, but also the past and present.

That said, I was intrigued enough by the storyline to keep reading and was eager to discover what had led the twins to swap lives for a period of time.

It was interesting, although at times difficult, reading about early life at Hawksmoor under the tyranny of an angry father and a fervent religious upbringing and, as events unfolded, it was easy to see how much this had impacted their later lives.

This was definitely a slow burn for me as it took a while to feel fully immersed in the plot, but if dark, twisted thrillers are your thing, then you’ll enjoy this one.

With thanks to the author, Rachel at Random Resources and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to participate in the tour.
